Seems like the exact placement of that pattern into a cateogry (SO or otherwise) is less important than recognizing when to use it, and if you're taking an SO approach, there's a good chance it will be needed. I would like to know if Erl discusses the SOA RM. You make a great point that he should acknowledge it and "accept or deny". In "Principles of Service Design", Erl states that he will update readers on his web site when relavent standards are adopted. He gives instructions where to find his updates, but I can't find where he's commented on this. Has anybody seen a discussion of the OASIS SOA RM from Erl? -Kirstan
