I agree that infrastructure outsourcing over the 'net makes things more accessible and more affordable. Eliminating that dedicated T1 may make financial side work. A VPN connection over the public 'net may also do the job. I wonder if any providers offer dedicated connections as an option for the higher-end security needs?
I'm not sure FUD is necessary. Just a realistic and honest evaluation of needs, costs, risks, etc. Outsourcing isn't inherently bad.
