FWIW, we don't actually add any 1.6 switches. The 1.6 switches were always being passed due to my earlier changeset: 6873059: Explicitly use -source 6 -target 6 when compiling with the boot jdk Summary: The build fails if the bootstrap JDK defaults to <1.5 Reviewed-by: jcoomes and 1.4 options were being used locally in sa.make to override this. On the copyright update, it wasn't something I thought of and changesets with those copyright updates mixed in tend to be a pain to backport.
