There is a good example in www.javaworld.com about Java Mail. I think the
issuer 3-4 months old. You can do attachments also in java mail.

That works fine for sending mail, but what about
reading mail? Also, JavaMail does do attachments. Finally,
the API is a hard to get a grasp on - the documentation
is thin, but there are some example programs that generally
give you hints on how things work.
Have you considered using JetSpeed?
