If you use the 1.2 Java plugin for your applet, then be warned that session
tracking via cookies will fail. You will need to pass the session id
manually, and URL rewriting may not work either unless you disable cookie
support on your servlet engine.

I've spent a lot of head banging on this one -  let me know if you need any
more info.
