This is on track, but I think requires some elaboration. What the
original poster wants to do may or may not require installing
additional software -- it all depends on what web server they're
using, and whether it is already SSL-capable. And I don't believe the
original poster said anything about what seb server they're using.
Basically, this usage of https/SSL is totally a web server issue, and
is totally transparent to the servlet container/engine. So the
original poster needs to figure out how to SSL-enable their web
server. (And it will likely require getting certificates of some
kind.)
