Asking questions like this makes me think that you'll have many more questions down
the line before
you'll really delve into actually writing servlets. I think the best advice for you
is to suggest
that you learn the fundamentals of servlets and jsps, and then come back to the list
with more
specific questions, if necessary. The archives have many references for books that
you may find
interesting, one of them I like is Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages by Marty Hall,
and you will also
find many helpful online sources provided in the faq's, etc.
The links for the archives and resources are at the bottom of every email on this list.
