searching for "set remote user" returns 3 matches, one of which is my question, one of 
which is your "helpful" answer, and one which is another question.

You obviously haven't tried looking through the archives of this list
- I have answered innumnerable questions about authentication
environments and so have others.

So to say there is "not much documentation" is nonsense frankly.
