It is interesting to watch some of the list subscribers complain and whine
about the level of complexity in the questions being submitted to this list.
Yet, if you sit back and think about it, these simple questions probably
help the majority of the subscribers on this list. This list isn't labeled
SERVLET-ADVANCED, nor is it labeled SERVLET-BEGINNER. It is a public list
with a clearly defined policy. Posting any type of questions, whether
complex or simple, is perfectly fitting with the policy.

If you feel that your time is being wasted by reading the multitude of
simplistic questions then by all means leave the list. Since you are not
willing to help the majority, I do not personally feel that you will be
missed. I agree with the notion of searching the archives, read a book, etc.
But the reality is, people will post their questions and while awaiting an
answer may resolve it in another forum. That is fine.

Now that I've posted my "2 cents worth" I've become a part of probably the
most annoying and useless part of this list. People who take the time to
continue a thread that doesn't belong on the list.

Ask your questions, if you get a response great. If you do not, look
elsewhere and if you get mail telling you to stop posting simple questions,
delete it. Use this list as it is intended. As a possible way to finding a
solution relating to SERVLET technology, regardless of how simple some
subscribers may find it. If you do not know the answer to a problem, it is
welcomed here.

Perhaps you should have checked the archives.

Sun already have an adavanced-webapp list... and there is an
advanced-servlets list at egroups.com
([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

Anyway... that doesn't solve the problem. The idiot posters would
just all join the expert list because that is where the experts who
can answer the questions are.

The point is that some people think it's their *right* to ask stupid
questions and get an answer.

I would say that's true, IF you pay for the priviledge, or at least
if the person answering gets paid for having answered.

We, the experts who answer questions here, don't get paid by Sun. Sun
benefit directly from this list and our expertise. And yet Sun do
nothing to make this list less troublesome.

I'm getting pretty pissed off with that.

Nic
