this one has been beaten pretty hard, but i need to add my 2 cents too..
i found a while back that i was barely paying attention to this list anymore
because it was so full of stupid questions -- the discussion level had
really degraded. i used to answer as many questions as i could, but
eventually gave up in frustration. so here is what i did..
i just set up a filter to my inbox that allowed only the mail of specified
persons in, and shunted the rest to another directory. over the course of
several days i found the mails of those who were worthwhile reading and
added them to the filter so that anything from them would be accepted while
all the rest would not. then i would scan the 'junk' directory now and
again to see if anyone should be added to my list of acceptable posters.
so now it is very easy to read the comments of the nics, craigs, et aliis
without hunting through hundreds of junk mails. i suppose it sounds
elitist, but i have so little time for this..
