I don't think you can do that. The jdbc driver at some point would have to
"connect" to a vendor provided driver ( for example from Oracle) and then
execute the query. But Solaris or Linux systems do not support the Jet
driver Microsoft uses on the Win platforms . Access is not an open systems
database.
My humble opinion .. someone may have solved this already ..
