I use NetMon from MS (I live in W2K) for serious packet sniffing, and
TcpTunnelGui from IBM for simple work.
TcpTunnelGui is part of IBM's SOAP dev kit available from
www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech go to the java section and select SOAP for Java.
Run the sniffer as 'java com.ibm.cs.net.TcpTunnelGui' passing listening
port, hostname and outgoing port
for example
java com.ibm.cs.net.TcpTunnelGui 82 www.someserver.com 80
you can then do http://localhost:82, this will send the request to the
sniffer, which will pass it on to www.someserever.com on port 80
Be aware that this is a very simple tool - but it is very useful
