Hi Susanne- Your question is too open-ended to provide specific answers, but here are
several criteria for you to consider:

1. Client platform? PCs only or do you want to be able to extend the app to handheld
devices in the future?

2. Preexisting technologies? Are you constrained in any way by existing software?
Hardware?

3. Money? Do you have an unlimited amount to spend for databases and app servers?

4. Scaleability? How big do you need to system to grow to? 10 or 1,000,000 employees?

5. Robustness? Is it critical that the app be up all the time (24X7)?

These are the types of things to think about initially. Once answered, specific
possibilities will present themselves.

Hope this helps. Good luck. -ted
