Hi Ted,
thank you for your quick response. I know, my question has been very globally. I want
to give you the criterias I have to take into consideration:
1. The program shall be started from CD-ROM, on PC or Notebooks. It is for programmers
and consultants, who are working outside of the firm, at several customers, and
because they are using the PCs of the customers, the program should not be installed
there.
There has to be the possibility to send the data over the Internet or, if there's no
connection, to store them on a floppy disk and to send it later by email.
2. There is no hard limitation on technologies, I shall find the best way.
3. No, of course the amount is not limited. If it is possible, we should use Oracle
Lite as database, the Web Server should be Java enabled, of course, but it lies on a
Windows-NT-platform.
4. The program is thought for companys ranking from small to middle, 10 to about 1,000
employees, not more than 50 accesses at the same time.
5. The robustness is not the main criteria, because there is the possibility to store
the data on floppy disk.
If you have some ideas about the best way, I would really highly appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Susanne
