This is true.  But this doesn't mean we should give up trying to
reduce them, and/or raise people's awareness of the list policies, the
list archives, and other resources.

Also, addressing the previous poster's comments, there's a good chance
that if you're questioning yourself as to whether you've looked hard
enough and/or you're thinking about it, then chances are you have :-).
