Hi All

I've a requirement to display sales reports from our backend ERP system (SAP
R/3) on the web. I've got a servlet that recieves the request, validates the
parameters and submits the query. The first problem is that, with the best
will in the world, I can't get the query to run in under 8 minutes -which is
too long to wait. What I'd like to do is to allow the user to continue
browsing the site after submitting the request and A.) if they're still
attached when the report is ready then either pop up a display with the data
or a dialog box that when clicked, takes them to the report page.
B) If they're not attached, then I want to e-mail them the results.

I'd welcome any hints on how to do (A)

Regards
Roger
