Klamath was the codename for the Pentium 2 at 233, 266, and 300MHz. It used a .35-micron fab and, like all P2s, had 512k of half-speed on-cartridge L2 cache. Deschutes was the codename for the .25-micron P2s, which ran at 333, 350, 400, and 450MHz. The slowest Xeon was 400MHz, and Xeons all use full-speed L2 cache. P2 Xeons came in 400 and 450MHz varieties, with available cache sizes of 512k, 1MB, and 2MB. Katmai was the codename for the first Pentium !!!s, which ran at 450, 500, 550, and 600MHz, and were fabbed on a .25-micron process. The main difference between these chips and the Deschutes Pentium IIs was that the P3s had the new SSE instructions, the processor ID number "feature," and slightly more conservative cache timings since the L2 caches were run at higher frequencies.
So, anyway, all 350MHz Intel chips were Deschutes P2s, and there are other differences between them and Xeons than just cache quantity.

So, is this still continuing to hold true? (P2 350 on W2K faster than
AMD 450 on W2K Server). I have been waiting to see if anyone posted to
this thread on this, but did not see any further comments.
