I can confirm this bug. I saw this message when I got online to report that after I installed 3.06 on my home desktop, my first submitted WU returned the statistic that I had completed 1900-something WUs and 29000-some hours of CPU time, whereas the true figures from the night before were 2200+ and 32000+. An update on a different computer which had submitted a WU of its own in the meantime still showed the correct figures, however, and then the update on the desktop's subsequent WU also returned the correct statistics. I did not then check my statistics at S@H because the other home computer showed a (later) correct figure, but have done so since. So I think there is no concern about statistics at Berkeley being corrupted.
Strange. I wonder whether the bug appears only on the first submitted WU after installation. I did download 3.06 on the new desktop in my OFFICE on Friday and when I checked it on Saturday, after it had done several WUs, the correct totals were appearing. On the desktop at HOME, for some reason, the "Ask me before connecting" button had been lighted, so it obediently waited to be told to send the next WU, allowing me to see the statistics returned to it after it submitted (I think) its first WU after installation (why it had sent the first WU without being asked, but waited on the second, is one of those interactions between Windoze and S@H that defies human understanding...at least THIS human's understanding). I'll install 3.06 on the desktop in my satellite office on Tuesday and make it ask permission (I just LOVE it when they beg...) before sending, so on Weds I can check to see what totals were reported back on the first WU done after installation. BTW, Bruce, the new office machine (2GHz P-4) ran the one WU I saw (it got held up by the S@H data bottleneck, so when I walked in I was able to see the CPU time for the completed WU; will one of the "aftermarket" SETI monitoring programs let me compile statistics on each machine's individual performance?). It took about 4.5 hours, proportional to my son's Athlon 1800+ time of about 5 hours. Neither machine has been optimized except to have the screen saver turn off the screen display after a few minutes. --howard 2220 or so > From: Bruce Hudgens <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Sun, 03 Mar 2002 13:01:39 -0600 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: quirk with 3.06 > > > If you go onto the Seti web site and check your stats, does that still show > ~700 WUs?
