Bitching about the installer not fitting your use-case is a fairly pointless exercise. If you are not happy with what it provides you are free to install from source tarballs.

It's not VHM, but the misguided chap that does the OS X installer. I suspect the other response to your e-mail either does not have more than one host served, or is not using the binary installer. Simply stated, the guy who puts out the OS X binary installer has done several things to break it, and doesn't seem overly interested in correcting them. I went through a process of getting my machine up-and-running, and whereas he did answer questions posted to him, none proved very useful, and when bugs were demonstrated, documented, and resolutions provided, he simply ignores them. If this sounds a little harsh on him, it's intended to be. He really needs to get his act together. Anyway.

Well, if you'd care to call it bitching, feel free. I'd not seen anywhere that the installers were for one site only as you state. Installing everything from scratch is a very drastic thing, when it would take so little to update the installers to install correctly.

Oh, why do I say correctly? Well, you seem to say - as definitely the sources say - how to set up Zope. Plone, etc, and the installer is in no way follows those guidelines. That's not something to complain about, and try to change? Huh. _______________________________________________
