1. Report these issues to upstream
2. Upgrade libtool
3. Convince our manager to allocate time that I can do the upgrade

... do you really think I would fight for a 5% improvemnt ? So far it's
a ~~18min improvement in build time on my box and I didn't even use more
builtins or "shcomp" yet...
