Sun hopes to ship OpenSolaris as Solaris with as few modifications as 
possible.
Since much of the infrastructure (ARCs in particular) are shared, any 
deviation
will be a well understood decision.

Yes, Sun Solaris is a special distribution.  We can't deny that.  It 
will be for
the foreseeable future.  It might not be forever.

The point is that in doing this, we must not hinder any other distributions.
