Using GCC to deliver C++ libraries in Solaris or Nevada is a non-starter. PSARC/2002/348 requires the use of Sun Studio: http://opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/caselog/2002/348/opinion-html/ The issues of Standard C++ [ ISO/IEC:14882:2003 ] Compliance are currently being addressed in internal discussions inside Sun. The resulting conclusion from these discussions will be communicated once it is finalized. This could happen in the near future.
