Using GCC to deliver C++ libraries in Solaris or Nevada is a non-starter.

PSARC/2002/348 requires the use of Sun Studio:

http://opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/caselog/2002/348/opinion-html/

The issues of Standard C++ [ ISO/IEC:14882:2003 ] Compliance are currently
being
addressed in internal discussions inside Sun. The resulting conclusion from
these discussions will be communicated once it is finalized. This could happen
in the near future.

In its currently proposed format, this Integration is not appropriate.
