C++ libraries exposing public interfaces, and compiled with GCC are _not_ 
allowed, and the reasons for this interdiction are clearly and thoroughly 
explained in the PSARC/2002/348 opinion.

As i have already stated: the issue of Standard C++ Conformance for Sun Studio 
12 is currently being addressed in some internal Sun discussions. As soon as a 
resolution is reached (hopefully soon), the Sun Studio limitations you allude 
to 
  will no longer be material.
