you really have to look at the log not just the mail message. The
mail message is unlikely to give you the exact error.

zod was updated a few days ago to 92 and the msg* things probably
came in at that time. scalab.sfbay.sun.com is its NIS domain - I wonder
if you have something set in your environment that is affecting
msgmerge (like DOMAIN)? You might try starting nightly with 'env -i'.
