so just a quick question - is sfw really the best place for this? I know
sfw used to have things like tiff, png, and jpg but they long ago moved
to jds, so I'd more expect to see libmng go there. I would hate
to get this into sfw then in a few months waste a bunch of time
coordinating a move to jds and dealing with possible issues.
oh and I see it understands GIF - is that something we can bundle
now? I just remember that being a problem before, but I can't remember
if it was a patent issue or that we had to use libungif (which
is on the ccd - ah maybe it's compressed gif's that are the problem
so if mng doesn't do those it's probably safe regardless)
