The mins for STN is 386 or better, 8 meg ram and a floppy. You don't specify the memory on the 486, but you meet the rest of the critera. STN is picky about network cards and purchasing two NE2000 clones is a very good idea to save time and headaches getting it up and running. Can you still use other networking software? Does it rely on TCPIP for transport? if yes, then yes. STN is only a secure gateway to the Internet and allows sharing of that resource. webcasting? Are you hosting a webcast or a client? If a client, no problem. If a server, then it's a tad more difficult, but maybe.
