I am trying to get STN up and running for the first and I am having
trouble pinging the STN server (IP:192.168.0.1) here are my settings:
Computer #1: WIN98
Network Card: Intel PRO/100+ PCI Management Adapter Card
IP: 192.168.100.202
Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (STN IP)
Computer #2: WIN98
Same settings only IP:192.168.100.203
Both computers can ping each other on the LAN
STN Server: P5-120 mHz PnP turned off in BIOS
Internal Network Card: Linksys NE2000 compatible ISA
Address: 300H IRQ:3
IP: 192.168.0.1
Gateway: 255.255.255.0
Name Svr: 192.168.0.1
External Network Card: same as internal
Address: 240H IRQ:5
IP & Gateway: What my ISP gave me for my cable modem
DHCP is not selected and DNS is for the STN boot disk.
The server boots fine and finds the nic's and appears to be running STN
without a problem. ALT F2 gives the statement "Ready to receive quires.
I get a request time out statement when I try to ping the STN machine
from either of the WIN98 machines. What I am doing wrong?
