A .TBZ file is a .TAR file that has been compressed with BZIP2.

I found it essential to decompress and de-tar the files on a UNIX
box to make sure I preserved the access control stuff (it gets
lost/modified on a windoze system). You can then modify the files
before re-taring and BZIP2ing them up again.

If all you want to do is overwrite a file then I have found that the
.TBZ files seem to be processed alphabeticaly.

This if you put your version of a script file (in the correct
directory of course) in a .TBZ file and call it (say) ZZMINE.TBZ it
will be opened last and overwrite the original (from a previous .TBZ
file ??).

I used this feature to turn on logging (syslogd) to file rather than
to screen - worked well :-)
