Please help! I am trying to install my new STN using a DSL modem. I installed two SMC
ISA cards to my 486 PC. Then I configured and created the STN bootdisk. When booting
the stn pc found the eth0 NIC and gave this error messages;
.
.
.
starting S50enet
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
SIOCADDRT: No such device
SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
.
.

My question is;

1. What does this error message trying to tell me? Is this something to do with my NIC
cards?

2. Wild question, do I need a cross cable between DSL modem & STN?

Thanks.

Roel
