Well, again, as I tried to clarify before, it is not so much the advertising
as the discussion. Your original post was asking us not to discuss Mikrotik.
As for advertising on this board, no, that wouldn't be appropriate. But if
they are going to do it, they certainly would be morally obligated to to
allow it on their own board. So I guess what I am saying is this; I used to
see folks tout Microsoft tools on the Borland boards and wonderful,
informative, and very often contentious and heated "discussions" would
ensue; but no one ever told them not to talk about these issues. However, if
a MICROSOFT employee spoke, he would always identify himself as such and
state that he was speaking for himself. And it was never really an
"advertisement" per se, just a bantering back and forth about the pros and
cons. One fellow in particular was quick to admit when "his" product had
weaknesses that the other product didn't.
Of course, this was a few years ago. Nowadays, guys like him would probably
get fired and sued by his employer.
