My ISP (RCN) has changed modems (again) and now I have a 3Com Cable Modem. The real drag is that they now have a one hour lease time on the DHCP settings. I had previously hard coded the external IP, gateway IP and subnet mask into the External Network page, and STN worked fine for years! How however, I have to use DHCP on the external network, and it doesn't seem to work. What's the trick? If I leave the external IP, Gateway IP, and subnet mask blank and check the "DHCP provides network info" box my external network never comes up? I want STN to ask the cable modem for these values - can STN do this? I have the debugging support, network debugging, and TCPdump features turned on - could these cause a conflict with DHCP? Thanks for any advise. I am still a real fan of STN, even though I have fought with this for a few days now. ============================================================ Absolutely FREE magazines - FOREVER!
