Steve,
I have had simular problems with Charter Communications here in
Worcester Ma. (and ultimately got a fixed IP) You can try setting the
"use RFC 1541 compliance" check-box. Just face it - some cable
carrier's DHCP sux. Also, do NOT set "lease time"
(btw - I ran a heavy thread about this about six months ago - you might
want to go back & review - there were a few nice "gotcha's" there.)
