best of all they have printed instructions and I was able to use my old STN
box with one of the image files

Just stumbled upon something called SmoothWall, an Open Source project
out of England (I believe).  www.smoothwall.org will get you there.
Looks like it may be the answer to what many here are looking for both
for capabilities and price ($0).  Also runs on a 486, but seems to need
a hard disk and CD-ROM, too, and does nt have a Windows-based setup.
I'd be interested in hearing what those more knowledgeable about these
things think of it.
