Hey I used it for a long time for $70 I got my moneys worth. It was the best
choice at the time.

I could deal with a kit that used a hard disk or how about using 2 floppy
drives an extra drive is really cheap and most people that use stn would
have one laying around.

Once upon a time Microsoft used some kinda strange formatting that got about
1.8mb or so in a 1.4mb floppy.

Also most of those router boxes don't all seem to deal with modems too well
(like not at all).

How to Limit Access to AIM??

Subject: How to Limit Access to AIM??

Hi,

I am interested in limiting access to America On Line Instant Messaging -
AIM. I would like it to work between certain times, and not others.

It seems that AIM uses port 5190, but I might be mistaken. Assuming it
uses that port, What do I have to do to enable that port for, say, 2 hours
each day, between, say, 5 and 7 pm.

The reason for this, in case anyone wants to know, is that my kids are
spending far too much time glued to this stupid chat utility. It's
interfering with their homework, and I need to do something about it. I
figure that I can tell them, "gee, I don't know why it's down, that damned
AOL network is probably just bogged down, you'll have to wait until [see
time above].

Can anyone help me out with this?

Much obliged,

Robert

I'm responding very late to this message, but I just wanted to say that STN
has been absolutely GREAT for me. You earned every penny of the $70 I paid
you. I am sorry they made those cute little $150 "appliance" router
switches, but, hey, it was inevitable! I don't use one, but I always
recommend them to my non-techie friends. They run like a garden hose -
plug them in and they work.

But there are those of us who appreciate what you have done. You were
there long before most of the others. You deserve kudos and nothing else.

Hope that makes you feel better. Go ahead and do anything you want with
your product, open source it if you like. It will only help your user
base, and encourage the product to have a longer useful life, and perhaps,
never die!

Good luck.

Robert
