This is not a Sharity problem, I think more of a Windows problem. But if anyone else has worked it out, or has any pointers to share I would appreciae it.
The problem is with the Windows2000 LAN AutoMount. I have network drives mounted on my Windows2000 box, and even though I turn AutoMount off, the mounted drives get disconnected and red Xs appear on the drive icon in Windows Explorer. Clicking on the drive icon shows it's contents, but the red X appears as though it's not mounted. Problems happen when one program is using the mount, and another tries to "re-connect". The system will give an error that the drive is already in use. I have tried the advice from Microsoft's website, and using net server /automount:-1 but it doesn't turn it off. I'm running a network of two Win2000 PCs, and an SGI IRIX 6.5.8 running Sharity and Samba. Sorry for the off-topic post. But I know this is where the network experts live.
