IMHO, I don't think we should be talking about any sort of official logo
unless someone around here wants to fork over the cash to get it properly
trademarked, and hold the trademark in esgrow for the group.
I think I would also like to spend time on a logo, but I have not had time
to do it, much less find my installer for an appropriate program. Which
leads me to...
As part of my first objection, we need to consider project-branding issues.
Do we want an official color scheme? And how permanent is any branding we
do, going to be? Because we might see some particularly awesome logos down
the road, but not want to offend the previous logo champion.
And some things, like the friggin awesome shark picture, really don't fit
for a project logo, but would be great for a sub-project logo (like a Window
manager or something.)
Maciej: There are a few of us around here that particularly like the chicken
and the egg. (And by definition, they have to go together.) But I agree with
William, thats something we can all decide as a group as well.
So I don't want to hose things up by being anal, (most of the time I put my
2 cents in, I complicate things to the point where things reach a grinding
halt - like the hardware thread I've tried to start on 3 or 4 occasions
where I've mostly been ignored) - but if we are deciding that we need to
decide something, we need to make some decisions about what we are deciding.
;-)
