if the turbo is in fact the culprit, it is because the internal seals are shot. Cost is that to rebuild the turbo, as well as remove and reinstall to the engine. www.turbosunleashed.com will be your best deal. 300-450.

However, it's very possible that your problem is valve guides. Worn valve guides WILL leak oil into the cylinder, and could be causing preignition.

Ping also has a numerous other causes...

You need a better diagnosis than 'ping' to pinpoint your problem.
