It's called torque steer. All FWD cars tend to suffer from it at least a little. Even a T1 auto should have equal length half shafts to help reduce torque steer. My '88 Daytona Pacifica had them. An '88 Lebaron I parted out a couple weeks ago had them. Both were automatic T1 cars. If you have trouble with torque steer, start by making sure your engine is centered, then move on to making sure the ball joints and tie rod ends are in good condition. If they are, an alignment should cure things for ya. If they aren't, replace, then alignment. It's amazing what a good alignment will do for torque steer (and traction sometimes too). -- Brian J.
