An adjustable sway bar has several holes on each end to adjust the leverage on the bar from the end links. Closer to the bar is stiffer and further away is softer. The length of the links is only to compensate for any binding or interference between the bar and the suspension in it's travel. I hope that clears it up for ya! Adjustable bars are used to fine tune roll stiffness. Rex N.
