Hi all,

As you know, we just replaced my wife's 1990 Lebaron GTC with a new PT
Cruiser. So, we are putting the GTC up for sale. You can see images
and details at http://www.smallfield.org/lebaron/

Many of you probably know the car fairly well by now anyway. We
purchased it 7 years ago as my wife was getting her degree in
preparation for her starting her career. A couple years ago, she
started making noises about wanting 4 doors in her vehicle for things
like kids and coworkers. Since we could keep maintaining and repairing
the Lebaron forever, we put a time limit on replacing it of no later
than fall of 2009.

Well, this spring, the AC evaporator core failed. We talked about it
and did a lengthy search for a suitable replacement vehicle and just
about decided to repair the Lebaron (in fact, I had purchased the
replacement parts), when we settled on a particular PT Cruiser GT. So,
the Lebaron is up for sale a year early.

We want $1900 for it and the car is in Woodruff, SC 29388. It has 200K
miles on it and has some good and bad points that go along with that. I
have mentioned alot of that on the web page (the good, the bad, the
ugly). I suspect that the car is worth more in parts than as a whole (I
even thought about scavenging parts off of it for my 1990 Daytona
Shelby), but for various reasons I really want this to go to someone who
will keep it maintained and on the road, so that is my goal. Well, that
and offset some of the purchase price for the new car of course :-).

I have a file folder with most of the receipts for it over the years
which goes with the car (there's lifetime warranties on things like the
starter and alternator, I am sure...I almost always get those parts if
available at the parts stores). I also have a small amount of touch-up
paint for the color I repainted it. It's just a small touch-up bottle,
but you will have the color for future reference.

Instead of typing the whole history of the car here, I will refer you to
what I have typed on the web page and gladly answer any questions anyone
has. Some of you have a good idea as to the history of the car already
anyway. :-) I believe that the car is in better, more drivable shape
than it was when we got it.

Oh, an interesting thing that I didn't get up on the web page is that
the 2.2L in the Lebaron does not have balance shafts. I presume that
this is because it's an early model year car and got an engine before
the balance shafts. We got the car at 75K miles and the engine bay
looked pretty unmolested, so I am fairly certain this is the engine that
came in the car when it was new.

Questions or comments, please let me know.
