* do not try to free the empty x264/vpx buffers after a decompression
failure
* fix Xvfb deadlock on shutdown
* fix wrongly removing unix domain socket on startup failure
* fix wrongly killing Xvfb on startup failure

* ensure clients use raw_packets if the server supports it (fixes
'gibberish' compressed packet errors)
