Of course-- The BSL programming script requires SW control of MSP430 reset, TCK, BSL TX and BSL RX.
The USB Reader dock has an SMSC260x flash reader + hub. Hanging off one of the downstream SMSC USB ports is an FT2232 dual USB UART. One port is tied to above 4 lines, the other is connected to the MSP430 USART UART lines.
