Hi Peppe, I would recommend a copy of "Electromyography Physiology, Engineering, and Noninvasive Applications" By Merletti and Parker (c) 2004.
I purchased the book for a student at our company and he seemed to like it. Chapter 5 discusses acquiring a signal, and on page 121 "For almost all muscles and most applications, the highest harmonic of interest in surface EMG signal is in the range 400 to 450Hz, thereby requiring low-pass (anti-aliasing) filters with cut off in this range and sampling at at least 1000 samples per second." ...but do check it for yourself...... I believe the student would have preferred a sample rate of 2000Hz or higher for his work. -james From: Peppe Scabellone [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, October 15, 2011 3:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Shimmer-users] ECG frequence and programming board problem Hi everybody thank you all for you really useful answer at my previous mailing list. Now I'm able to use ECG with shimmer2r, but I can't find any scientific document where is defined the best frequence for sampling with ECG : can anyone help me? Better linking me some medical article. Further I have some problem with the programming board of shimmer2r. I'm using the platinum kit that has been bought by my university, but no programming board of the 2 that were inside can program the shimmer2r. The strange thing is that we can program the shimmer2r using an old programming board that we bought with normal shimmer. The programming board of shimmer2r needs something special to work? ________________________________ Join CMC as we celebrate microsystems research excellence in Canada at the 2011 Annual Symposium "Energy Matters", October 19-20, 2011 in Gatineau, Qu?bec.
