Dear All,

we are very, very glad to let you know that the SPINE Project has today a
brand new official website, available at http://spine.deis.unical.it

The SPINE Project aims at providing developers with software instruments
for rapid prototyping of WSN/BSN-based applications by offering great
flexibility in the implementation of distributed signal processing
algorithms for the analysis and classification of sensor data.
The SPINE programming framework is an open-source project to establish a
broad community of users and developers that contribute to extend the
frameworks with new capabilities and applications.
SPINE is being developed since 2008 and it has been already adopted in
several BSN applications.
Implemented for supporting different sensor architectures based on the
TinyOS environment (such as Shimmer and Shimmer2R, TelosB, and MicaZ),
SPINE enables efficient implementations of signal processing algorithms for
analysis and classification of sensory data through libraries of processing
functionalities. It also embed an application-level communication protocol.

All the SPINE Framework resources (e.g. tutorials, user manual, and, of
course, the source code!) are available at its corresponding Google Code
Project (https://code.google.com/p/spine-project/)

The SPINE Google Code Project provides a SVN repository which includes
anonymous read-only checkouts (see the "Source" tab).
Please note that you are NOT requested to have a Google Account to access
the new SPINE SVN repo.

Additionally, we have created two mailing lists through Google Groups
(which are connected to the SPINE Google Code Project as well):
- SPINE News (http://groups.google.com/group/spine-news) -
[email protected] (read-only for users, used by us to publish
major news and updated only)
- SPINE Dev (http://groups.google.com/group/spine-dev) -
[email protected] (users can read and post messages, used by
developers and code contributors)

Should you have any question or wish to know more about the SPINE Project,
please join the new SPINE Dev group and post your message there!

Thanks very much from the SPINE TEAM!
