Lloyd,

Miscalculated the "clamp adjusted" frequencies by adding 3 CPM to your
numbers, when I should have added to my numbers. That means my clubs are
all stiffer than your recommendations by about 5-6 CPM on the long irons to
around 10 CPM on the PW. However, my woods are all still considerably more
flexible than your recommendations. I guess this will be my last post on
Shoptalk on this subject, as it appears no one except you and I are
interested. If you like, we can continue the discussion off-line. Maybe I
can send an iron or two and a wood out to you for a reshaft to test the new
and improved FitChip recommended frequencies. As I have stated before, I
think the FitChip has potential, but I questioned the way you were
interpreting the data. It appears that you have done some more research
into the data and made some modifications, especially with swings like mine
that appeared to have very late to no release. Apparently, certain swing
patterns had significant toe down deflections (I think) which the FitChip
was mis-reading in some way as shaft load in the swing plane (or something
like that). Anyway, we can continue off-line if you like.

Lloyd,

I estimate that the 5" clamp length would add about 2-4 CPM to the readings
I get at a 4.5" clamp length. Using a correction of 3 CPM per club, all of
the irons are pretty much right on the money, or at least within 4 CPM down
to the PW (297.3 vs. 298). BTW, I tried softer shafts in the short irons
(flat-line on up to the 2 CPM slope I used), but found I liked the feel of
the slightly stiffer shafts better. I think I will try a stiffer shaft in
the 3 and 5 woods, and if I like the feel, I may reshaft the driver. Thanks
for the input!

Tedd

It relates to a 5" clamp length with a grip. Your numbers below look good.
You might try a little stiffer wood but long irons look very close
considering the + or - 4 Cycle range that they should be within. Short Irons
might be just a little stiff.
