My tip trimming fiasco had the benefit of raising an interesting
question.

I have known for a long time that steel cpms don't equate to graphite
cpms.  As a result, I've basically ignored them.  Also, nearly every
graphite shaft I've used has been in a driver, with no tip trim.

However, once I posted the cpms I got from the PF shaft, several
very experienced clubmakers said "that's too stiff."

The question is "How close, in a VERY general sense, are steel
cpms to graphite cpms?"  They obviously must be close enough to
make some basic approximations.
