Pat, take a ruler and hold it on a table, with an inch on the table, the rest leaning out. Pluck it and hear the tone of the vibration. Now slide ii further into the table top, say 2", and pluck it again. The tone now is higher. The ruler got stiffer.
Butt trim sensitivity and tip trim sensitivity are characteristics of the single brand and model of the shaft you are using, but comparisons must be done at the same vibration length.
