I would to interject a few observations that I have come across if I might.  A few people here on this fourm have come down on John Daly because of his latest antics while playing down under in the Aust masters.  Throwing his putter into a lake after three putting a green then quitting the tournament and flying back home to AK.   Now I'm not saying what he did was right / wrong or otherwise but how would you react if you had been told that your mother had died from cancer??  I think him just being able to finish the HK open was a great feat in itself.  Then to enter the Masters and try and compete because of a promise he had made to his mother that if she did die to continue to play out the commitments he had made tells me he is a man I'd like to get to know a little better.

Rich Beem of Thursday was talking about his new 9* driver and how he could not get the ball in the air with it, he said that it had tendancy to nose dive off the face of the clubhead compared to the other guys he was playing with in the pratice round with who were hitting 7 & 8* drivers.    He then went on to say how the weight of just the paint was causing this and how after removing the paint he was now hitting the ball higher.    I wonder just how many of us would thought of that???   How many of us would of even concidered the weight of the paint.

Other thoughts as they become available.
