Bob, Uh oh, did I delete something out of there? Here's what I sent...copied from my "sent file...
"When the hands are about waist high in backswing, butt of club should still be aiming in the general direction of your belt buckle. That's a key point with the long driver. At that point, wrist cock is almost straight up, so club sets on top just in front of your right shoulder and club is pointing toward the target." As long as you can keep you hands from getting behind the upper body, it's not as difficult to get the long driver head square at impact. So, at waist high, if you've made a good extension, your upper body is about 90 to the right (RH player), wrists have barely begun to cock and hands are essentially centered on your upper body. Then, keeping the back of the left hand almost vertical, cock the club almost straight up. Back of left hand remains flat, or almost flat. Club at top should be aiming down the target line and inside the right shoulder. I've noticed many old guys seem to get lazy here and kind of drape the club around their shoulders, then throw their hands and upper body at the ball. This greatly reduces distance and makes timing difficult. You have to hold that club high, which seems a little strange at first with that long a club...feels more like you should wrap it around you. If you do, your dead. Hope that is clearer.
