Here is a quote from one of the DOE websites: "The boycotting countries would take additional imports from different countries, and those countries would purchase additional supplies from the boycotted country/region. Due to the nature of the world oil market, it is impossible to impact the oil revenues flowing to a given country or region with anything short of a sanctions regime, wherein all countries pledge to avoid buying from a particular country." It is always good to go to the source for information that gets passed along to through the web. Here is an address to the DOE web site that contains information on imported oil. http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_impor ts/cli.html I found the "Primer on Gasoline Sources and Markets" to be very informative. My personal opinion is that we need to reduce consumption altogether and develop alternative energy sources. I am fortunate enough to live in a location where I can ride a bicycle or take the bus to work about 90% of the time. I may be moving soon and I am faced with not being able to do that anymore, but I will have to look at car pooling or possibly getting a hybrid car. As I stand at the bus stop in the morning, I always picture the energy we could save if everyone who drove by me alone in their cars would either carpool or take the bus one or two days a week. Well, that's enough of a sermon from me.
